TNT is developing a series that serves as a sequel to the 2011 Liam Neeson-led action feature “Unknown”.
That had Neeson as a doctor who loses his memory after a car accident, only to wake up to find out his identity has been stolen and he is now the target of assassins.
It was Neeson’s first collaboration with filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra, the pair subsequently doing three more action films together (“Non-Stop,” “Run All Night,” “The Commuter”).
The series would pick up after the events of the film and follow a new lead character thrust into an adventure full of twists and turns. It joins two other recent TNT series based on films – “Animal Kingdom” and “Snowpiercer”.
Neeson and Collet-Serra are attached to executive produce with the latter directing at least the pilot. Sean Finegan will write the pilot and will executive produce alongside Erik Olsen, Ethan Erwin, Alex Mace, Hal Sadoff, and showrunners Karl Gajdusek and Speed Weed.
