Netflix has announced a December 17th premiere date for the second season of its massive hit series adaptation of “The Witcher”. This means the new run will arrive two years after the first season premiered in December 2019.
The announcement was made as fans gathered virtually at the first-ever WitcherCon global digital convention which goes into the novels, video games and series.
More news about the new season, and the tie-in programs like the prequel mini-series and anime film, is set to be released over the course of WitcherCon over the next few days.
Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, the new season sees Geralt of Rivia bringing Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows – his childhood home of Kaer Morhen.
While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.
Adjoa Andoh, Cassie Clare, Liz Carr, Graham McTavish, Kevin Doyle, Simon Callow and Chris Fulton join the new season. Check out some first-look images and key art below along with a video breaking down the titles of the new season’s episodes.
