Tomb Raider Gets Official Cookbook While Fans Wait For Sequel News

The Tomb Raider: The Official Cookbook & Travel Guide has finally had its cover revealed, whetting many fans appetites in the process.

While fans of Tomb Raider await more news about another installment to the series, they can prepare themselves to enjoy some of Lara Croft’s favorite meals, as the official Tomb Raider cookbook cover has now been revealed. This year marks Tomb Raider’s 25th anniversary, and Crystal Dynamics has promised fans plenty of surprises throughout 2021. The official cookbook has been one such surprise that nobody expected, but one that should be a lot of fun for fans of the pistol-wielding leading lady.

The most recent set of games in the Tomb Raider series rebooted the franchise and saw the beginning of Lara Croft’s story as she battled to uncover the truth about the mysterious events that surrounded her father’s death. This journey of discovery took Lara from the storm-plagued island of Yamatai near Japan, into the frozen Siberian wilderness and finally culminated in the sweltering jungles of Peru. As with the Tomb Raider games before, the rebooted trilogy was a series of globetrotting adventures with spectacular backdrops and immersive history. But, while for many in the current climate of 2021, real-life travel may still be something that is going to be put on hold for that little bit longer, there is still going to be the chance to experience a world of cuisine thanks to the official Tomb Raider cookbook.

The cookbook itself has been known about for a while now, but today its cover was finally revealed. Shared on the Tomb Raider Twitter feed, the Tomb Raider: The Official Cookbook & Travel Guide has been met with a positive response from fans, many of whom are eager to try out some of the recipes already. The cover features a particularly tasty-looking serving of Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian dish that Lara has no doubt sampled during her various escapades in South America, as well as the Scion of Atlantis, Lara’s iconic red glasses, and an ice ax.

There is still no word on when Crystal Dynamics plans to release another console title in the Tomb Raider series. At the very start of 2021, the developers did ask for fans to be patient as they waited for more information on any future games, so this is not surprising. It has been stated, however, that whenever another game is revealed, it will unite the original Tomb Raider timeline with the rebooted trilogy of games.

However, while there may be no new AAA Tomb Raider games currently incoming, a free-to-play mobile game called Tomb Raider Reloaded has been reported to be in its beta phase. As of the time of writing, there is no exact release date confirmed for Tomb Raider Reloaded, but its announcement trailer revealed that it would be available at some point in 2021. Lara Croft will additionally be making her anime debut, as a new series on Netflix was also announced alongside the cookbook, as part of the Tomb Raider anniversary celebrations.
