Just a day after it was rumoured, Sony has made it official – the “Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut” is on the way and it will include everything previously rumoured and more.
The release will include the brand new Iki Island expansion – a whole new island to explore with a new story and new elements. In the game, Jin travels to the island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence.
But soon, he finds himself caught up in events with deeply personal stakes that will force him to relive some traumatic moments from his past. The new island boasts new environments, new armor, new mini-games, new trophies, new techniques, new enemy types and more.
There have also been some tweaks made in response to feedback users have been providing since launch including alternate controller layouts, the ability to enable a target lock-on during combat, and the ability to hide your quiver during gameplay.
For the PS5 version only, the game will also boast specific enhancements like DualSense controller enhancements including haptic feedback and adaptive trigger use, dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60fps, drastically improved load times, enhancements to 3D audio, and proper lipsync for the Japanese voice track.
Finally, “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends” will be scoring an all-new mode – that update will be available at no additional charge to owners of any version of the game.
For those who already own the regular PS4 game, an upgrade to the ‘Director’s Cut’ will be available for $19.99 for PS4 users, and $29.99 for PS5 users. New physical disc versions will be available for $59.99 on PS4 and $69.99 on PS5.
Pre-orders are available now with the upgrades and disc editions both arriving August 20th.
