A new theory suggests Ant-Man will appear in the Loki season finale post-credits scene, which could tie into another theory about Kang the Conqueror.
Warning: SPOILERS for Loki episode 4.
A new theory suggests Loki‘s season finale post-credits scene will be for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which ties into another theory about Kang the Conqueror being behind the Time Variance Authority. Loki episode 4 quickly expanded on the mythology surrounding the TVA as well as unveiled the organization’s darkest secret, that everyone there, including Agent Mobius himself, is a variant. But that was only the beginning of uncovering the TVA’s deception.
It turns out that the Time-Keepers weren’t real, after all. Loki knew something was off about the TVA and that everyone working there likely wasn’t created by the Time-Keepers solely to maintain the Sacred Timeline. And on top of that, though Judge Ravonna Renslayer once was a hunter like B-15, she’s now at the forefront of maintaining the TVA’s façade, even presumably keeping the fake Time-Keepers going. It’s because of that connection that it’s possible someone else like Kang the Conqueror is really behind it all.

One of the biggest villains in Marvel Comics is Kang the Conqueror, a time-traveling being known as Nathaniel Richards who’s spent his life attempting to conquer spacetime. Part of his comics’ story revolves around what the TVA is doing in the MCU, and given Phase 4 is fundamentally about establishing the multiverse and alternate timelines, this is all very much under Kang’s purview. Furthermore, Kang is set to appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which makes Loki the perfect property to set up the third Ant-Man film. What’s more, Ant-Man 3 reportedly recently filmed a scene in San Francisco (via TheDisInsider), which has become the basis for the idea that the scene filmed will be Loki‘s post-credits scene (via Caleb Williams).
Loki wrapped filming long ago, but there’s precedent for Marvel Studios to shoot post-credits scenes after production has wrapped – even as close as days before release. For instance, the famous shawarma scene from The Avengers was shot after the movie’s premiere, and the Avengers: Infinity War post-credits scene with Nick Fury and Maria Hill filmed mere months before that film released. In this case, it would be easy to put together a scene to connect Loki to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, particularly to that of Kang the Conqueror.
Beyond precedent, it makes narrative sense for that to be the post-credits scene – if there is one at all. Tying Loki into Thor: Love & Thunder seems like the obvious route, but Loki and Thor’s connected story neatly wrapped up in Infinity War; there’s nothing left to do there. However, revealing that Kang was behind everything would properly set up Kang as a big bad for Phase 4, similarly to what The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy did for Thanos. Not only that, but a Loki post-credits scene with Ant-Man could set up Ravonna’s return and even solve a mystery about the TVA – if the reason magic doesn’t work and time runs differently is because it’s really inside the Quantum Realm.
