WarnerMedia Kids & Family have given the green light to a new film and TV series based on Cartoon Network’s “The Amazing World of Gumball” franchise.
Both projects will screen on both HBO Max and Cartoon Network, both also set to be the first original productions for Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe.
“The Amazing World of Gumball: The Movie!” will focus on Gumball’s biggest fan finding a missing episode from the television show and accidentally opening a portal that connects Gumball’s cartoon world to his own.
After meeting the characters, he’ll team up with them to try and save Elmore from a nefarious menace looking to overtake the town. Ben Bocquelet directs from a script by Shane Mack.
The original series ran from 2011-2019 and for 240 episodes.
